FILMAKA.COM ANNOUNCES NEW CONTEST
The topic for Filmaka.com's April contest is "The Secret," and we look
forward to seeing how filmmakers across the world explore this theme.
All entries must be 1-3 minutes in length, and must be uploaded by
midnight PST, April 30th, 2007. The top 15-20 filmmakers each month
have a chance at the annual grand prize: a feature film contract.
Filmaka.com is an international competition, which accepts films in 10
different languages. Our award winning jury includes Werner Herzog,
Neil LaBute, Paul Schrader, Wim Wenders, and John Madden. Entry is

MAINE DOCUMENTARY, SHORT FILM COMPETITIONS SEEK ENTRIES
The 2007 Maine Documentary Film Competition and the 2007 Maine Short Film Competition are seeking entries.
The two competitions are sponsored by the Maine Film Office and the Maine Film Commission and are open to Maine residents age 19 and older. All entries will be judged by juries of Maine film professionals. Winners of the two competitions will have their films screened at the 2007 Maine International Film Festival in Waterville in the summer of 2007.
All entries must be received by the Maine Film Office by 4 p.m. on Wednesday, May 16, 2007.

NBC's "IT'S YOUR SHOW" OFFERS WEEKLY SHORT FILM CONTESTS
Short filmmakers will have a shot at weekly $1,000 prizes in NBC's new online "It's Your Show" contest.The contest's site provides video clips, sound bites, and music via online Toolkits, which must be used to complete challenges in weekly competitions. Past challenges have included short horror films, creating movie trailers from obscure footage, and themed shorts, including action sequences and comedic situations. Those competing will have a shot at a $100,000 grand prize.
